Should You Read "Haruka Reset"?
The deadline is looming, your work piling up and focus taken a hit... what’s the solution?
For Amano Haruka, it's simple: GET OUT!
The aptly titled "Haruka Reset" follows our leading lady's routine adventures in rest and relaxation as she searches for ways to get out there, and in doing so shows us that a bit of R&R doesn't need a big budget! After all there's plenty around if you can spare a little creativity! And a career essayist like Haruka certainly has the tools to achieve that:
Local sushi, the municipal pool, or even donating blood!(?) These are few among the many activities you’ll encounter within the pages of the manga. I found quite some hilarity in her sheer desire to get away from it all, too.
After all, if all you need is to get out and get work off the brain, all bets are off and anything goes. I know I’ve certainly had my fair share of rather remarkable efforts to get away from it all.
Haruka isn’t alone, of course: there’s Mine, the master of relaxation, and Mariko, the editor / babysitter (I guess?) of Haruka, who sometimes gets roped in for the adventures.
The art is clean and presentable, and the reading experience is fairly relaxed, as you’d expect from a series about exactly that. There’s an extra comedy to it, too, since the author’s other works primarily involve war, among other high-impact and high-stakes events; I certainly found it quite incredible to see it lined up side-by-side with some of the author's other works.
With a sum of 21(!!!) volumes and counting, there’s plenty of reading available to help you get your relax on, and maybe inspire some new outing ideas for your own upcoming trips. Who knows, maybe you'll come across a great new getaway that can be had fairly easily within your locale!
So! If you’re looking for an easy-breezy read to refresh your mind with, why not check out the manga “Haruka Reset”, by Takeshi Nogami?
It might just be your next best read.
